Beginning on 2 February 2026 and continuing through approximately 1 March 2026, the U.S. Government Contract Cutterhead Dredge CAPTAIN FRANK will be working in the Atchafalaya River from mile 134 to mile 153, at various locations within this reach.

The dredge will work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and will be monitoring VHF marine channels 13 and 16.

Dredged material will be deposited through a combination of floating and submerged pipelines into disposal sites located on the right and left sides of the Atchafalaya River.

Besides dredging equipment, there are numerous work and support vessels associated with this dredging operation.

Mariners are urged to transit at their slowest safe speed to minimize wake and proceed with caution after passing arrangements have been made.
