1.  Beginning 7/16/2024 notice is given that commercial traffic using the Elizabeth Locks and dam will be restricted to a seven-foot, (7’) draft restriction.  This restriction will remain in place until conditions permit the lifting of the restriction. 

2.  Recreational traffic will now be allowed to lock through utilizing the RIVER Chamber only.  Any Recreational Vessel that drafts over seven feet (7’) will not be able to lock through.

3.  Normal lockage procedures will be in effect. Utilizing the land chamber only for lockages. 

 4.  We will update this notification should conditions change, that would alleviate the restriction. 

 5. Over the next three to four months, there will be additional controlled demolitions of the dam, likely one per week. There will be short term closures, expected up to 3 hours each, and safety zone restrictions will be in effect during these demolition events.
