LOCK CLOSURE
Gulf Intracoastal Waterway,
Colorado River Locks, Texas

 

SITUATION: NAVIGATIONAL RESTRICTIONS

Colorado River Locks closure for repairs extended. “J&S Contractors” will be working at the Colorado River Locks making repairs due to collisions to the guide walls of both the East and West Locks. This work will require closure of the Locks during the designated periods of work.

TIME: Repair work will take place from Monday, 05 December 2022 thru Friday, 27 January 2023 10 March 2023, 7:00 A.M. (0700 hrs.) to 5:00 P.M. (1700 hrs.) each day. Work will not be performed on weekends or Federal holidays.

COOPERATION SOLICITED:

  • Mariners should contact the Lock Master at office phone (979) 863-7842 Ext. 2002 or government cell phone (979) 482-7321 to confirm the closure time to minimize their delay.
  • The Lock Master will be knowledgeable of the exact closure times 24 hours in advance of closure.
  • Mariners are urged to transit at their slowest safe speed to minimize wake and proceed with caution after passing arrangements have been made.
